Strange Moons

Vitreous enamel and silver on spun copper, 3” x 3” x 3” each
Hung from the ceiling or held in the hand as objects of contemplation, the baseball-sized smooth spheres reward close observation. The moon on the left was created by melting many layers of transparent blue enamel over granulated silver and silver dust. The moon on the right uses transparent enamel and cloisonné wire over wrinkled silver foil. The piece refers to two characters in a favorite novel, in orbit around each other.
